Lindell Mine Vehicle Wash Down Facility
Cullys was engaged to deliver the Heavy Vehicle & Light Vehicle Wash down Facility as-sociated with the Liddell Mine. The Scope of Works included the supply, fabrication, trans-portation, construction, installation, testing and commissioning of the wash-down facility as a complete and operable system. The facility was designed to wash down heavy vehicles manually and light vehicles automatically.
The wash down facility was installed to deliver certain outcomes including:
- Effective removal of coal and overburden dust from the underside and over body of the light vehicles used on site (i.e. cars, utes and other like sized vehicles) by spraying with detergent and water.
- Collect runoff and dirty water from the oil delivery slab, workshop, fuel delivery and refuel slabs for containment and primary treatment of the water prior to discharge to the industrial dam.
- Avoid contamination of the area surrounding the wash down from hydrocarbons.
- Removal of hydrocarbons from runoff received from wash down area, workshop, oil facility and fuel facility by the use of an oil separator
